# Installation Guide

> Learn how to quickly enable Zamp to handle all calculations in your Rillet account.

# Overview

Installing Zamp on your Rillet account is easy, with most settings living in the Zamp Connector application. Follow this guide to install and configure.

# Prerequisites

To install the Zamp integration, you will need access to:

| A Webhook URL for Rillet             | Once logged into the Zamp connector, copy the URL in the **Webhook URL** box                                                              |
| A Zamp Sandbox or Production API Key | Either the **Integrations** page on app.zamp.com, or directly from your Zamp Representative                                               |

# Installation Process

## Connecting the Integration

<Steps>
  <Step title="Log into your Rillet Account">
    You will need access to install integrations and generate Rillet API keys within your **Organization Settings**
  </Step>

  <Step title="Generate a Rillet API Key">
    1. Navigate to **Organization settings**
    2. Click **API Access,** and click **Create API key**
    3. Name the API key like **Zamp - Sandbox** (if testing) and **Zamp - Production** 
    4. Do not check the **Read-only** box
    5. Ensure you are copying the API key generated on the next screen, and saving it locally in a secure vault
  </Step>

  <Step title="Logging in and configuring the Zamp Connector Application">
    1. Either through the Rillet integrations page, or directly from the Zamp Connector URL
       1. [https://app.rillet.zamp.indisea.io/login](https://app.rillet.zamp.indisea.io/login)
    2. Once you enter your credentials and click **Login**, you should see the **Zamp Tax Settings** page 1.

       2. Enter your **Zamp API Token** and ensure\*\* \*\*you click **Update Zamp API Token**
       3. Enter your **Rillet API Key** from step 2 and ensure you click **Update Rillet API Key**
       4. Copy your **Webhook URL**
       5. Enable **Allow Zamp to handle tax calculations**
       6. Enable **Sync transactions with Zamp**
       7. Enable **Retain Zamp logs for 30 days**
       8. (If applicable) Enable\*\* transaction sync recalculate\*\*
              <Note>
                This is only necessary if you plan on syncing over data from a previous period and you want **Zamp to recalculate tax on those transactions**.
              </Note>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Creating your Rillet Webhook">
    1. Navigate to **Organization settings**
    2. Click **Webhooks** and **Create webhook** 1.

       2. Name your webhook either **Sandbox Zamp Webhook** (if testing) or **Production Zamp Webhook**
       3. Enter your **URL** from the Connector
       4. For the **Entity** add the **Invoice** <u>and</u> **Credit Memo**
          1. Check **Created**, **Updated**, and **Deleted**
       5. Click **Create**

## Mapping Products

To accurately calculate tax for your inventory, it is important to map your items to Zamp’s Product Tax Codes. **This is all managed within the Zamp Connector**.

Zamp’s tax codes can be found [**<u>here</u>**](https://developer.zamp.com/api/zamp-tax-codes), but talk to your Zamp Representative if you have any questions. We are here to assist in evaluating the taxability of your inventory.

  Any blank mappings will default to the **General Tangible Personal Property** code, or *R\_TPP*.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Find your Product List within the Connector">
    1. Navigate to the Zamp Connector
    2. Click **Tax Code Mapping** 1.
           <Note>
             This is the entirety of your product record and may contain products you are not invoicing to customers. You can ignore those. 
           </Note>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Map your products (Individual Items)">
    <Note>
      If you have a small number of products, or wish to update the mapping for an individual product, you can map quickly through a dropdown.
    </Note>

    1. For the item you wish to map, click the dropdown box denoted by **Select tax code**
    2. Within the dropdown, select the Zamp Product Tax Code that should be mapped
    3. Click **Save** 
  </Step>

  <Step title="Map your products (Bulk upload)">
    <Note>
      If you have a large number of products, you can export your product record from within the connector as an .XLSX file, and re-upload when mapped via Excel (or an adjacent product).
    </Note>

    1. Click the **Export** button
    2. Open the downloaded .XLSX file
    3. Map Zamp Product Tax Codes in column D, the **Zamp Tax Code** column 1.
           <Warning>
             Do NOT edit Columns A, B, or C.
           </Warning>
    4. Save your edits locally
    5. In the Zamp Connector, click **Import**
    6. The connector will tell you whether any Product Tax Codes were invalid or unsuccessfully mapped. Ensure all items you attempted to map are successful before proceeding to save 1.
           <Note>
             If you click the buttons next to **Status**, you can filter for successful, failed, or invalid mappings.
           </Note>
    7. Click **Save**

Your transactions will now use your mappings.

## Mapping Exempt Customers

If you make sales to exempt customers, you can tag them with an exemption code directly within the Zamp Connector.

Our current list of exemption codes are:

| Code         | Description                       |
| ------------ | --------------------------------- |
| EDU\_PRIVATE | A private educational institution |
| EDU\_PUBLIC  | A public educational institution  |
| FEDERAL\_GOV | The federal government            |
| STATE\_GOV   | A state government                |
| LOCAL\_GOV   | A local government                |
| NON\_PROFIT  | A non-profit organization         |
| TRIBAL       | A legally protected tribe         |
| RESALE       | Resellers or Wholesellers         |

    1. Navigate to the Zamp Connector
    2. Click **Customer Entity Mapping**
  </Step>

  <Step title="Map your customers (Individual customers)">
    1. For the customer you wish to assign an exemption code to, click the **Start typing to select zamp entity** box
    2. Within the dropdown, select the Zamp Exemption Code that should be mapped
    3. Click **Save**

  <Step title="Map your customers (Bulk customers)">
    1. Click the **Export** button
    2. Open the downloaded .XLSX file
    3. Map Zamp Exemption Codes in column B, the **Zamp Entity** column 1.
           <Warning>
             Do NOT edit Column A
           </Warning>
    4. Save your edits locally
    5. In the Zamp Connector, click **Import**
    6. The connector will tell you whether any Customer Exemptions were invalid or unsuccessfully mapped. Ensure all customers you attempted to map are successful before proceeding to save
    7. Click **Save**
